Thing is, since I graduated college, I have been on a roll making some works for myself. Having moved down south, health getting better, being so close to paying off tuition/loans, and having a steady job, this has all made it possible. However, I will not be uploading them...at least not on this site...or any art community site for that matter and works already uploaded have been removed. As a matter of fact, I am thinking of leaving DeviantART for good. Mostly because from my personal experiences, from forums, to conventions, to even schools, I am not liking how intolerant and hive minded the art community is slowly becoming. The community that I remembered as a kid priding itself as being accepting of all, open-minded, and diverse is slowly rotting within and no longer credits you for your skills, years of practice, effort, and education. Instead, it has become too political. "What ideologies do you abide by? What subculture are you a part of? Answer these for us and we will tell you if you are a true artist." Shit like that. The same asinine styles of labeling and indoctrination that the community once fought against is now slowly poisoning a once great community and quite frankly, I do not want to give them the satisfaction of supporting my works or receiving donations until they undergo some massive reformation and cleaning up this juvenile bullshit. Do not get me wrong, I love the arts and I find them important, especially in the field of education, but I will not support this community if it means supporting the stereotypical mentality they have built for themselves.
